Star Wars Battlefront 3 is not currently in DICE's plans

Released in 2017, Star Wars Battlefront 2 has been constantly updated by DICE with updates and DLCs, keeping the interest of the community alive despite the initial wave of negative comments, mainly related to the mechanics of the reward boxes. Recently Dennis Brännvall, design director of DICE, he explained to the microphones of PCGamesN how their way of managing stocks has changed in the post-launch period as well as the market itself, underlining how at the moment the team's efforts are focused on supporting Battlefront 2 and how a third episode does not, at the moment, fit in their plans or in those of Electronic Arts. Second Brännvallin fact, there is no longer the same "desire for sequels" as in previous years, so studios can focus more on improving their products, while also increasing user satisfaction.

The sequels are probably still valid, otherwise people wouldn't make them, but there is no longer the same desire as before. We used to make a sequel chain, so when we produced one we would do a Season Pass for a year and then move on to the next game. I think the industry has changed on that… before it was more transactional, we made a game, we signed up for four DLCs and that's it. At the time you focused on enhancing the purchase of players and if there was a mechanism that did not work then you would pin it down saying "we will fix it in the sequel". This time we are not working like that. You will actually see us reviewing bits that don't work, without being afraid to change things. This results in a happier community because the game is better overall.

We won't see one soon Star Wars Battlefront 3, but we will have a second episode that is always updated and in step with its community.
