According to the latest news, following Will Smith's departure from the role of Deadshot in Suicide Squad 2will take its place Idris Elba (The Office, The Black Tower, Luther). From past statements of the actor who left the role vacant, it appears that the choice was made due to overlapping commitments, although nevertheless official confirmation of his participation had never arrived. Idris Elba, however, is not new to the world of superheroes, having already played in the Marvel Cinematic Universe the role of Heimdall in the Thor movies and Avengers: Infinity War.
This would therefore be the actor's appearance also in DC films, with the film that would follow the first Suicide Squad, which despite the controversial reviews of the critics was nothing short of a mass commercial success.
