A galactic tournament

The main plot present in the Story mode remains the same as the previous version. White and his brothers will still have to make their way through the various planets occupied by five evil Bomberman to face the fearsome emperor Buggler and put an end to his plan to conquer the galaxy. The main novelty introduced in Super Bomberman R Shiny Edition It will be there Grand Prix mode. This new system allows you to try your hand at single fights or between teams made up of two or a maximum of three elements. To compete, two types of regulations are made available:

  • Base Bomberman: a regular battle in which the one who defeats the opposing team several times wins. Each time a member of the opposing team is defeated, the score increases by one point.
  • Crystals: the goal is to get the crystals that fall into the level first.
Each crystal collected equals one point. Making a mistake will lose half of the crystals collected and also as many points.

By playing connected to a network connection we will have the opportunity to participate in friendly or league matches to climb the global rankings.

Super Bomberman R - Shiny Edition - Review

To conclude

Super Bomberman R Shiny Edition it certainly shines for its innovation compared to what was seen with its predecessor. Many new exclusive content they are added to a relatively meager title released. The graphic department further improved, it makes everything brighter and more fluid, helping to create a pleasant and carefree atmosphere, thanks also to the effervescent colonna sonora accompanying each internship. Unfortunately despite the new additions, the main plot it still remains quite simplistic and above all tedious and repetitive if faced alone.

As we know the strength of this saga now in its thirty-fifth year of age, is not in the solitaire game, but in the multiplayer component. The experience experienced in local clashes with friends is much more rewarding and fun than the one against the computer. While as regards the game on the net, in addition to the low turnout in the rooms we will always find ourselves in unbalanced games and at the mercy of the connections of others, making everything very frustrating most of the time. For now, the launch price does not yet justify the content shown, but this new one Bomberman it certainly remains a recommended purchase for anyone who wants to spend carefree afternoons in the company of their friends and for those nostalgic of the genre.
