The House: Campbell reveals the first details on the fifth film in the saga

One of the most popular movie franchises in the entire horror landscape is certainly The House (better known as Evil Dead in North America), created by Sam Raimi with the iconic Bruce Campbell as the protagonist. The well-known American actor has returned to play the protagonist Ash Williams in the TV series Ash VS Evil Dead, after only appearing as a cameo in the 2013 film by Fede Álvarez. However, apparently, this will not be the case for the fifth film in the saga. According to the words of Campbell himself, this so-called Evil Dead Now (he talked about it using this name) will follow in the footsteps of the 2013 one as one is expected to appear female protagonist. Below, the statement the star made on the subject:

From now on, they must try to hold out on their own. That's okay and it's liberating. We just want the series to continue. The mantra of the franchise is simple, which is that our heroes and heroines are perfectly normal people. This is the tradition we want to continue.

Campbell then continued the interview, revealing that the director of this new production, chosen by Raimi himself, is the independent author Lee Cronin (known for making horror Hole - The abyss in 2019).

Cronin made a great movie called Hole - The Abyss. We'll get that sucker out once he's practical.

Since its inception in 1981, the house has always been a very important franchise in the world of horror films and series b productions, bringing millions of fans to constantly follow the adventures of Ash Williams and associates through four films, a TV series of three seasons, video games or even several comics. Unfortunately we do not know the expected release period for this expected fifth film, or if it will be a kind of soft-reboot like the previous one, but we will not fail to inform you whenever there will be updates on it.
