Watch Dogs Legion: Does the Day One Patch for PC not improve performance?

Ubisoft has released the Day One Patch to Watch Dogs Legion in version PC. The update should have improve the overall performance of the title, especially those concerning the operation with the RTX from Asus. According to the dsogaming.com portal, however, there doesn't seem to have been any kind of improvement. The patch was supposed to improve the frame rate for RTX GPUs, particularly during the driving phases, but this was not found during the test.

John Papadopoulos of DSO Gaming states, in fact, in his article:

Unfortunately we didn't notice any substantial performance improvements on our PC which, in case you were wondering, boasts an Intel i9 9900K with 16GB of DDR4 at 3600Mhz, an NVIDIA RTX 2080Ti, 10-bit Windows 64 and the latest version. of the GeForce drivers.

With both DX11 and DX12 we found the same performance as the pre-patch version of the game. Not only that, but our CPU usage was also similar in these two versions. DX11 seemed to be using all of our CPU cores / threads, while DX12 was not fully utilizing the available CPU cores / threads. Despite this, the overall performance was identical.

In both settings, Ultra and Very High, we found a drop to 50fps while driving. Not only that, but we were limited by the CPU to 1440p native and 3328x1872 (with DLSS active). So yes, Ubisoft has done nothing to improve the overall CPU optimization in this game.

The Watch Dogs Legion Day One patch has 1,44 GB in size and it will be downloaded automatically the next time the Uplay launcher is started on PC. Speaking of Uplay, Ubisoft has recently presented the Ubisoft + subscription service which will take the place of Uplay +.
