Will Resident Evil 8 have a new playable character?

As revealed by the site Biohazardcast, it seems that in Resident Evil 8 we will be called to take on the role of a new character who will join the protagonist of the previous chapter, that is Ethan Winters. The character in question should be called Emily, who is supposed to live in the mountains where she presumably will have Resident Evil 8. This new character, unreleased to the series, would be on the lookout for her missing father when she runs into Ethan.

Furthermore, the two protagonists should be joined by the inevitable Chris Redfield, a staple of the saga and also present in the revolutionary seventh chapter, where it appeared briefly in the finale and in a DLC dedicated to it. Resident Evil 8, unlike the two recent remakes but similarly to the seventh chapter, should be a first-person title.

Those just listed are far from verified rumors and we will have to wait a long time before we have official news about it, given the unrest in the US that forced Sony to postpone its PlayStation 5 presentation conference. According to some rumors, Capcom would be working in parallel with the sequel by Resident Evil 7, to the remake of the fourth chapter (in our previous article we explain why the idea does not convince us), and ad another remake still shrouded in mystery. For now, no news on a possible remake of Dino Crisis.
