In a recent interview with Variety, Damon Lindelof talked about the possibility of being able to see a second season of the TV series or not Watchmen, of which he is showrunner. The writer explained that there are currently no plans for a new season, adding that the strength of the graphic novel original of Alan Moore was precisely that of not having a sequel:

I am very grateful for how the season has been received so far, and I don't want to be ungrateful, but I still have no intention of continuing the story because right now I have no idea how to carry it forward. If I were to be involved in other seasons of Watchmen I should be able to answer questions like 'why' and 'why now' and the answers shouldn't be, 'Well, because that's what you do, because the first season was good.' Warning, I'm not saying there shouldn't be a second season of Watchmen, and I'm not saying this possible season shouldn't include some of the characters featured in this season either. I just don't know how it could be
For the moment, therefore, a second season of Watchmen seems a very remote possibility, although it is not a scenario to be excluded entirely given theincredible success with critics and audiences.
