Apple: According to Tim Cook, the company does not want to repair iPhones

Sales of the new iPhone did not meet the forecasts of Apple. According to a letter addressed to investors by the CEO of the Cupertino company, Tim Cook, the cause should be sought not only in the saturation of the mobile market, but also (albeit to a lesser extent) in the growing demand for repairs of old iPhones. Consumers prefer to repair their mobile phone rather than buy a new one, resulting in lower revenue for the company. 

In this regard, Tim Cook writes in his letter:

While macroeconomic challenges in some markets have contributed significantly to this trend, we believe there are other factors that broadly affect iPhone sales, including consumers adapting to a world with fewer career options, and some customers. take advantage of significantly reduced prices for iPhone battery replacements.

This situation is putting Apple facing an arduous market challenge, and Cook's statement represents an indirect admission that it is not convenient for the company to repair old iPhones. We just have to wait for the company's reaction to boost sales of its flagship products.
