Devil May Cry: Dante's voice comments on the assault on the Capitol

Recently there have been several repercussions following theassault on the Capitol, which occurred days ago in the United States. You will know that a pro-Trump group has forcefully occupied the capital building, wanting to stop the ongoing event that would have made the election of the new president official Joe Biden. The results of the assault were several injured and one dead. Following these events, many have taken sides on one side or the other of the controversy. In fact, there are those who condemn what happened and others who instead support what these people have done, coming to express their comments on social media. Among these there is also Reuben Langdon, known to most in the gaming world for having given his voice to Dante Alighieri in devil may cry and Ken masters in Street Fighter.

Reuben was among the first to comment on the incident, in fact his tweets date back to January 7, a few hours after the attack on the building. In them, the American voice actor and actor expressed his opinion by sharing videos in which it is said that the people who took part in the assault on the Capitol were not terrorists or even insurgents, but simple Protestants. Reuben also commented on the recent suspension of Trump's Twitter account, writing the following:

“Censorship is to society what cancer is to the human body. Those who burn books today burn bodies tomorrow ”. Hypocrisy will be the downfall. Watch and learn before reacting to jerks.

Hypocrisy will be their downfall. Watch and learn before you make any knee jerk reactions. https://t.co/O3zoQ1qzwc

This stance did not go unnoticed a Capcom who felt compelled to intervene, distancing himself from what was said by Dante's voice, arguing that the views he expressed do not reflect those of the company. Reuben Langdon therefore wanted to comment by replying as follows:

I have never supported violence in the capital, neither Trump nor his followers. I do not share this content. Please tell me where I did it and I will be happy to apologize and delete it. I am referring to the double standards of the media, the hypocrisy of everything and the blatant attack on the American Constitution. The assault on the Capitol was a disgrace to the United States. In no way do I nor do I ever approve of their behavior or anything that incites violence or property damage.

The voice of the protagonist of Devil May Cry then spoke, thus expressing his thoughts and creating a somewhat complex situation. The topic is not simple, and we just have to wait and see how events will continue in the coming days.
