Months after its official announcement, the manufacturer of Final Fantasy XVI, Naoki Yoshida, has returned to talk revealing some new details of the new title Square Enix. The debut trailer shown during the PlayStation Showcase last summer had generated great expectations for the title, especially after the lukewarm reception reserved for the previous chapter of the franchise. for this very reason, however, he stated, the juiciest news will come only at the right time, after having tested the ground among the players, to avoid that someone has different expectations from what the game will actually be at its release:

We do not want to talk about something that is not yet ready and that could give way to speculation. With every Final Fantasy fan, depending on their favorite chapter, the reason that creates expectation tends to differ. Each person has probably come up with their own idea or image of what the next Final Fantasy should be. Saying something prematurely is definitely a very high risk. If we talk about some aspect, someone will collect the information by reporting it on social networks and it will start to spread and people will create their expectations. So with Final Fantasy XVI, every time we reveal more details about the title, we hope to show the kind of game it will be and the kind of engagement it is capable of delivering.

The Japanese company is aware of how much even the smallest information has the ability to significantly influence the expectations of the players, and intends to treat this matter with extreme caution. It seems, therefore, that Square-Enix wants to take all the time necessary before returning to speak publicly about his JRPG. In the course of 2021, the software house will therefore disseminate new information on Final Fantasy XVI, expected exclusively in PlayStation 5 format.
