After the reveal of God of War: Ragnarok during the recent PlayStation 5 Showcase, rumors about its possible release date have chased each other on the web. Although in fact many hoped to see it at launch on the new console, the small video showed a more realistic release date for next 2021. Unfortunately, however, it did not contain any more information on the title, nor on its gameplay, apart from the alleged new logo. Today, thanks to a recent post on Twitter by the well-known game tester Sami, we have a few more clues about the sequel in the works at i Santa Monica Studio, which apparently has all the credentials for apply for the next GOTY 2021.

Playing God of War 2018 feels surreal now. Back then I never ever thought I would be in game development in any form.

We're working on something special and crazy .. it's time to get ready for GOTY 2021.

Playing God of War 2018 feels surreal today. I never thought then that I would be involved in game development, in any form whatsoever. we're working on something special and crazy… it's time to get ready for GOTY 2021.

These few words of the game tester Sami give us two important information. The first is that the game's release is most likely (barring last-minute delays) scheduled for 2021. Of course, the constant shifts in the launch date of cyberpunk 2077 they no longer make us sleep soundly, but it is very likely that we will find again Kratos e Atreus next year on PlayStation 5. The second is that the sequel to the 2018 title seems to promise fire and flames. We know that Sony is betting heavily on the Santa Monica kids' title, and we can bet that its new next-gen incarnation will have all the potential to lay the foundations for something unique that will leave its mark. We do not yet know, unfortunately, if the new God of War: Ragnarok will follow in the footsteps of its predecessor, or if it will innovate itself again by changing its genre again, or if it will return to its old and traditional formula that has decreed the success of PlayStation 2 e PlayStation 3. We just have to wait a little longer to have in our hands, we trust, a new masterpiece.
