PS5: For Tim Sweeney, the architecture of the PC must be revolutionized

Through his Twitter account, Tim Sweeney the founder of epic Games, spoke again about the SSD's PS5 and the fact that PCs will take several years to regain the advantage. Second Sweeney, in fact the architecture of the PC needs to be revolutionized to be able to keep up with that of PlayStation 5, and developers should take inspiration from it, especially when it comes to transferring compressed data directly to the GPU. There is less and less to when players will finally be able to get their hands on the next generation consoles, to be able to personally experience the technical advances of the platforms.

For PC enthusiasts, the exciting thing about the PS5 architecture is that it's an existence proof for high bandwidth SSD decompression straight to video memory. Is this enough to get Microsoft, Intel, NVIDIA, Intel, and AMD to work together and do it? We'll see!

The power of the SSD of the new Sony home console has undoubtedly been one of the most discussed topics regarding the next generation consoles coming in the coming months, and Sweeney had previously talked about the performance of PS5, especially praising the architecture chosen for memory management, while in the course of an interview with Geoff keighley defined the move from a simple HDD to an SSD - which we know will be an integral part of both PS5 that of Xbox Series X- as a big change that will significantly reduce any type of loading in the game.
