DualSense: Let's find out all the details after the event

In the past few hours, as we all know, the famous Canadian journalist Geoff keighley had the opportunity to test the new controller in a world exclusive Dualense di PlayStation 5, documenting the experience he lived with an explanatory video in which he described in more detail the hardware in question. While the release of the next Sony home console is getting closer, the company has not yet completely exhausted the contents to show: unlike the rival Xbox Series XIn fact, information on PS5 was released much more slowly and gradually. While we already knew most of the features, Keighley gave us the opportunity to perceive what the first sensations might be once we tried the device, logically from his point of view.

Features

Keighley initially echoed the speech relating to the weight and greatness of the DualSense, much discussed since its presentation: we know well that in terms of dimensions the new device is slightly larger than the DualShock 4, especially because of the particularly long grips for the handle, while for the weight the difference is even more minimal and according to the man - who compared the two very quickly - the detachment with the pad in the hand feels very little, at the point to define it almost null. Finally, as regards the shape, it was emphasized how much the new PlayStation pad is much more compact, with an even more solid structure than the old version.

A large space was also dedicated to adaptive triggers, which in the game behave really well, giving a good dose of immersion to the player: these are equipped with points of tension, able to perceive some elements that previously, unfortunately, took a back seat; the latter, according to Geoff, is an innovative feature capable of revolutionizing the next generation of consoles. Another well-known unique element of the DualSense is precisely the haptic feedback, an element already defined as promising since its discovery a few months ago. For the uninitiated, this feature will allow the developer to make players feel the difference in running on each surface and even let the user perceive where the sound is coming from through the vibration: Geoff also wanted to highlight its importance. The reporter also showcased the built-in microphone inside the DualSense, which enjoys one capture space quite large, allowing the player to communicate more comfortably, too without using external devices such as, for example, a pair of headphones.DualSense: Let's find out all the details after the event

DualSense reactions on Astro's Playroom

The man, well known within the videogame field, was also given the opportunity to try a demo of Astro's Playroom, a 3D platformer developed by the division ASOBI Team di SIE Japan Studio: the title, designed specifically to best test the capabilities of DualSense, will be pre-loaded on every PlayStation 5 console on the market without having to download it. The title in question serves as a sequel to Astro Bot Rescue Mission (available for PlayStation VR) and finally we will have the opportunity to see the much loved ones again little robots, which have now become a historical symbol for the brand of PlayStation. As the movie continued, Geoff limited himself to playing and analyze the reactions on the controller compared to what happened in-game: a trivial example is the sensation that the pad returns while our character is inside a sandstorm, or the tension that is perceived when trying to pull a string thanks to the renewed frets L2 ed R2 we talked about better before.

Everything is still to be seen, and without a doubt the fans are eagerly waiting to get their hands on it: despite the judgment of the Canadian journalist, most of the community has refrained from expressing one of its own, at least until there is the actual possibility to try it out to the public. Undoubtedly, the promises are many and prosperous, and even at the design level it seems to have had a good impact: in this regard, Geoff, on the final lines of the same video, interviewed the boss of PlayStation Worldwide Marketing Eric Lempel, also talking about the possibility of seeing some in the near future alternative colors regarding DualSense.
