Gearbox: Microsoft has evaluated the purchase of the Borderlands studio

In recent years, but even more so in recent months, the main console manufacturers such as Microsoft Xbox e Sony PlayStation there have often been "battles" on various fronts, one of which also concerns the acquisitions of software houses or smaller companies. In the last period, the one that most of all has fomented the environment, has been the survey of the group ZeniMax Media by Microsoft (although to date it has yet to be fully perfected) and all the software houses and various related IPs. As if that weren't enough, according to the Microsoft insider Brad Sams, the Redmond company was also intent on acquiring Gearbox Software (Borderlands) which, unfortunately, we learn to have been bought by Embracer Group for the figure of approx 1.3 billions of dollars.

This does not take away the fact that Microsoft may have really thought of wanting to acquire it, but now it seems to be too late. An important company like Gearbox, led by a prominent title like Borderlands, would certainly have brought so much quality within the Xbox Game Studios.
