With this new update, a mysterious pop-up which may appear during a voice call with friends, in which a message appears warning players that the chat could be recorded and sent to moderators. This pop-up took players by surprise who had no idea of ​​the existence of this new possibility introduced with the new firmware, but according to Sony this new feature will be implemented starting from the launch. This new possibility initially it was not present in the changelog published by Sony on its official blog, in which all the news of the latest update were listed. Only after the many messages received from players unaware of the existence of this message was another footnote added, which confirms that the ability to record and send voice chats to moderators is not yet active on PlayStation 4 and that will be activated with the release of next generation systems, starting next November 19th. Thanks to this feature it will be possible to send an entire conversation, or even shorter audio clips, which can present controversy so that the moderators analyze the chat for check if the participants have respected the rules or have not offended other players.

Thanks to this option it will therefore be possible to have greater security during calls or during parties on PlayStation 5, even if with this update many players have presented several problems just with the messaging and with the Friend List on the consoles of the current generation. Among other things, this particular possibility of recording voice messages seems to have been purely designed to work on Sony's next-gen systems, as confirmed by the same company with a post on Twitter, thanks to the presence of an integrated microphone on the controllers.
