Will Resident Evil Village have a roguelike-style New Game +?

Will Resident Evil Village have a roguelike-style New Game +?

An interesting new piece of news has just leaked for the new title of Capcom, one of the hottest titles of the moment given its very close debut date. It seems in fact that Resident evil village it might also include a unprecedented additional difficulty, unlockable after completing the game, and is thought to be some sort of New Game + in aquascape Rouguelike.

In fact, according to a tweet published by AestheticGamer, an insider also known by the name of Dusk Golem, in the next Resident Evil there could be a mode that if activated would be able to randomize the arrangement of the enemies and to the objects with each game, thus changing many of the mechanics of character development and resource management, each time the title is taken back.

In fact, the Resident Evil series has always made the resource management and time to complete a game, one of the basic “tactical and strategic” components of the product, especially in some extra modes of the various chapters. Just think of the need to sip the bullets and to best dose the care for the protagonists, to the higher difficulties of the remake of Resident Evil 2.

Therefore, the positioning of the enemies, the equipment available and the need to always improve even in the completion times, have certainly made the campaigns of the various games of the aforementioned series, as extremely replayable and in their own way exciting for all fans of the games in question, who know by heart every setting and every corner of their favorite titles.

For this reason, inserting a roguelike component at unlockable difficulties it would certainly be one unprecedented feature for the franchise, which could add a considerable variety of situations, in order to always guarantee new challenges to players who would find themselves in front of enemies and resources always positioned in different places.

It remains to be seen how this "random" factor would integrate with the balance of the game which in rouguelike titles is certainly one of the critical components to manage. For example, being faced with an extremely large group of tough opponents and having little ammunition to deal with them could make the experience virtually impossible. Same thing for the opposite situation, where an excessive amount of healing, modifiable weapons and ammunition, could make some sections too simple.

Precisely to solve this problem, a pre-calculated structure by the developers, which allows you to use a set of possible variants of the same setting, with opponents and objects arranged in various ways, but always well organized, so as to make the section less chaotic and therefore more balanced.

The tweet we talked about, and which mentions the characteristics covered in this news, we leave it at the bottom of the article:

I'm curious if they'll talk about it before release and * (SPOILER WARNING) * for anyone avoiding all spoilers, but no story spoilers here, just one extra mode, BUT…

I knew for a long time that they would create an "Ethan Must Die 2.0" for the village (which was transformed)

A difficult way. I don't know the full details / the final result of the mode, I think they could talk about it before release, but I am aware that it would make the game larger, randomizing the placement of enemies and objects could be extremely difficult.

Obviously we don't have no official confirmation from Capcom about it, which is why we recommend that you take the leaked information with a grain of salt. However, if such conjectures were to be real, the presented difficulty would certainly be worthy of great interest and would dramatically expand the potential replayability of the game, obviously provided it is well balanced.

(2/2) an expansive difficulty mode in the game. I don't know the full details / final result of the mode, I feel they may talk about it before release, but I'm aware it makes the game more open, randomizes enemy & item placement, & scaled to be extremely difficult.
