Yoko Taro (NieR: Automata): "We want peace in the world, but we enjoy killing in videogames"

    Yoko Taro (NieR: Automata):

Yoko Taro, developer who started the NieR: Automata, has recently launched into a rather profound reflection on our species.

During an interview with GameInformer colleagues, Taro addressed one of the hottest topics related to videogames, the one that puts them face to face with the problem of violence, and the fun you feel (through the media) in killing anything on the screen.

The reasons that lead us to kill in video games shed a light on what human nature really is. We long for world peace, but at the same time we take pleasure in killing others in video games. I think it is karma for human beings, the way video games outline the very essence of humanity, regardless of the objective they set themselves.

What do you think about it? Do you agree with Taro's words?
