Astral Chain, Atsushi Inaba confirms: "The game is a Nintendo IP"

    Astral Chain, Atsushi Inaba confirms:

Astral Chain, a title released in 2019 exclusively for Nintendo Switch, is an intellectual property of Nintendo. This was confirmed by the head of PlatinumGames, Atsushi Inaba, during an interview with the editorial staff of VideoGamesChronicle. For some time, users had noticed that on the Official site of the title there had been a change of copyright: the name of the software developer house, in fact, had disappeared. We report that Nintendo, for its part, has never released a statement regarding the matter. Just about this, Inaba specified:

The situation is the one described on their site: the intellectual property title of Nintendo and, as such, there are limitations on what we can explain about it.

What will be the future of Astral Chain? Inaba himself, in February 2020, declared that he would not have ruled out a priori that the title could land on other platforms other than those branded Nintendo, as happened for The Wonderful 101. It is difficult to think that, after the acquisition of the intellectual property of the title by the Japanese video game giant, this could happen. Also because, even then, the head of PlatinumGames stated that the final decision would still be up to Nintendo since, at the time, the intellectual property of the title was divided 50% between the Japanese software house and the company chaired by Shuntaro Furukawa.

PlatinumGames, in any case, does not remain idle. The developers of the Japanese production house are, in fact, working on the third title of the successful series Bayonetta, announced over three years ago. The works of Babylon's FallIn partnership with Square Enix, and finally, new projects not yet unveiled are on the way, as told a few days ago by the same Hideki Kamiya, a leading figure of the Japanese software house.
