During the Legacy of the Bat Panel of the DC FanDome, the award-winning screenwriter John Ridley confirmed that he is currently working on a miniseries of Batman in four issues scheduled for January 2021, with drawings by Nick Derington. Ridley's miniseries will focus on the family of Lucius fox, confirming rumors that this Batman will likely be black. To confirm this possibility was John Ridley himself, who stated:

I think it might be a good bet if you were to write a comic about a black Batman. I would say that there is 47% of the possibilities.

The story will focus on the family of Lucius Fox, the character in charge of the businesses of Bruce Wayne. Speaking of which, Ridley said:

Fox has a family, and it's a family that has kept secrets. These are different dynamics than what we've usually seen in Batman.

John Ridley is certainly a big name. As for the Batman universe, the first trailer for The Batman, film by Matt Reeves which sees the actor appearing as Bruce Wayne / Batman Robert Pattinson. The trailer, lasting about 2 minutes, shows some interesting scenes related to the film, giving a first interpretation of what this film could tell, apparently unrelated to all the other films and which follows the philosophy of Joker.
