In Catherine per Xbox 360 e Playstation 3 each boss in the game has a special move or two that can limit you very effectively. To counter these attacks as soon as the boss is about to use the special move (watch out for the sound effects) press the CANCEL button to cancel the attack, or at least delay it a bit. This should make your boss fights a little easier.
