Tablet

Android

For Android phones, the process is the same as above. However, because phones are smaller than tablets, it's not everyone's cup of tea. Whether you want to allow students to play Minecraft: Education Edition on their personal phones or not is up to you.

Unfortunately, while you can play Minecraft on Linux, the Education Edition isn't available for Linux computers. According to this 2020 post, Microsoft has not allowed any support for educational gaming on Linux. Even using WineHQ, the software to run Windows programs on Linux, will not work.

Mac

Macs are among the two most popular desktop platforms to play Minecraft on, the other of course being Windows. Therefore, Minecraft: Education Edition is readily available for installation and playback on your Macs.

You can use Minecraft: Education Edition as a kind of virtual classroom. Instead of asking students to write on the board, they can perform all kinds of actions in the game. You can use a parkour class to teach them things or even answer math questions on signs.
