FIFA 21: EA responds to the black market scandal in FUT

From your official Twitter profile, Eletronic Arts Sports (@EA_FIFA_) quickly intervened on a very hot issue related to one alleged illegal sale of FUT cards in FIFA 21 by its own employee. For the avoidance of doubt, we underline that the incident has yet to be proven and that the rumors have exploded starting from a tweet published on the Twitter profile (@FutArcade), which in turn thanks the user @RiberaRibell for the screens. The images, as stated, would show a private chat on Facebook Messenger where what should be an internal employee of Electronic Arts carries out a negotiation for the sale of FUT cards, an obviously illegal act (if it had really been committed).

FUT cards belong to the mode Fifa Ultimate Team of FIFA 21 and of the FIFA brand for some years now. The cards represent, in fact, the players that can be deployed on the field in your team. Over the years the system has evolved and the fittest players of the moment are constantly being celebrated with the release of higher value cards. Below, the tweet that started the scandal (allegedly):

A special thanks to @RiberaRibell for the picture, he did an amazing work❤️

At the bottom of the news, however, the official tweet with which Electronic Arts immediately took a stand. These are the words of the American giant:

We are aware of the suspicions currently circulating in our community regarding FIFA 21 Ultimate Team Player Items. A thorough investigation is underway and if we detect improper conduct, we will take swift action. Let's be clear: this type of behavior is unacceptable and we do not tolerate in any way what is supposed to have happened. We understand how this situation creates concern for an unfair imbalance in play and competition. We will update the community as soon as we have clarified the situation.

FIFA 21 has been available since last October 9 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows PC and Nintendo Switch. From the December 4 2020 the game also made its debut on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S (Here our review). It is not a particularly lucky year for Electronic Arts and FIFA: last November the company had to deal with accusations made by Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, regarding the use (in his opinion not allowed) of his image - and that of other players - within the football game.
