Fortnite: reinstatement requested in the App Store following serious user losses

Epic has once again made a move to try and get the court to reinstate Fortnite at the App Store of Apple, as he claimed that, since his removal, the daily players of iOS of the famous battle royale fell by over 60%. As reported by The Verge, epic Games has filed apreliminary injunction against Apple which would force her to put Fortnite back on its App Store. The full hearing for this general case had already been set for September 28, but Epic hopes to have Fortnite back in the hands of iOS players before the latter date, at least until a verdict is reached.

The judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers had previously ruled that Apple should not re-enter Fortnite in its App Store as Epic had not proven that any damage had been done and that Epic "it had strategically chosen to violate its agreements with Apple". However, the latter document claims that "daily active users on iOS have decreased by more than 60% since the removal of Fortnite from the App Store". This date range also includes the start of the Chapter 2 - Marvel-themed Season 4 which iOS gamers have not been able to join due to lack of update capabilities. Epic also claimed that iOS is the largest platform for Fortnite with over 116 million registered users, nearly a third of its 350 million registered users. Additionally, Epic claims that 63% of Fortnite players on iOS only access Fortnite on Apple devices.

Epic has concerns about the "being able to never see these users again”And hopes his Fortnite community hasn't been“ destroyed ”. It also reads that Apple threatens to deny any attempt by Epic to apply for a new developer account for "at least a year". This would be a big deal for Epic if it were "denied the opportunity to access even one new user among the more than one billion iOS users for at least next year."
