20th Century Studios e Walt Disney Studios recently shared three new photos of Free guy, a videogame-themed comedy that sees in the control room Shawn Levy (A night at the museum, Strangers Things) e Ryan Reynolds in the role of the protagonist Guy, a bank clerk who lives in a world beset by ongoing crime and violence. The reason for this high crime rate is that Guy's world is actually an open world video game, which takes its cue from the franchise of Grand Theft Auto, named Free City. One day two programmers, Milly e Keys, create a code that allows Guy to become the hero of the city and to abandon his simple role as NPC.
Due to the emergency Coronavirus the film a few months ago had changed its US release date, postponed from 4 July to 11 December. The screenplay was edited by Matt Lieberman (The Addams Family, Someone Save Christmas, Scooby!).
The cast includes, in addition to the aforementioned Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool, Detective Pikachu, The Voices), too Taika Waititi (director of What We Do in the Shadows, Thor: Ragnarok, Jojo Rabbit), Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), Lil rel howery (Run - Get Out, Bird Box), Utkarsh Ambudkar (Mulan, Blindspotting) e Joe Keery (Strangers Things).
