[Gamescom 2017] Gravel Hands On

    [Gamescom 2017] Gravel Hands On

During the Gamescom 2017 in Cologne this year, we really had the opportunity to try out numerous international titles, but we certainly didn't miss the opportunity to breathe some home air. This is also the way it is presented at the German event Milestone, revealing their own entirely new project: we're talking about Gravel, an arcade-style racing game, but which winks at some dynamics even to more simulative titles. The same development studio has called Gravel an “off-road adventure”, and now we're going to find out why. They will be enough for you 16 locations and over 50 tracks?

The house game was announced on February 22, with the business card stating the will to become "One of the most ambitious challenges in the off-road scene". After having been able to test it with pad, we can say that Milestone's undertaking is far from impossible. The demo that we were made to try in Germany, put us in front of different types of cars, made us tread the mud of different types of tracks, with variable settings, atmospheric conditions, and among many many doors. One of the most welcome notes of the title is that Gravel has not been subjected to constraints of any kind: this time the competitions created are original, and therefore not subject to inconvenient licenses. In reverse, the cars present in this racing game are many, existing, and which feature some of the most powerful vehicles ever created. Controller in hand, the feeling is immediate: the commands are quick to learn, and above all intuitive, following the classic racing game setting for the most part, obviously with the addition of the "Rewind", the company's trademark of a stock.

[Gamescom 2017] Gravel Hands OnDriving makes you want to drive, crash, try again, eat and let the dust eat. Obviously it will not be easy to master, and compared to the classic arcade-style racing it presents a higher difficulty: among the requirements of your raids between Australia, Alaska, Stadium and other uncontaminated territories, there will therefore not be only the skill at the wheel, but also a pinch of strategic talent, and a bit of healthy “demolition” verve. Extremely satisfied with what awaits us, we inform you that Gravel will be officially released to the public during the first quarter of 2018, landing on PC / Steam, PlayStation 4 (and PS4 Pro), and the Xbox One family of consoles.
