If you are tired of classic car games, where you just have to race, overtake all the opponents, finish first to make more money and buy more powerful and faster cars that can make you win more easily, your wish is fulfilled. At this year's Gamescom, we at Resources4Gaming have tried it GRIP: Combat Racing and we can confirm that he is also coming to consoles, more determined than ever to have fun between races, elimination races, arena fights and much more.

[Gamescom 2018] GRIP: Combat Racing - Tested the new title published by Wired ProductionIn Cologne, in addition to trying classic car titles, we found ourselves in the booth of Wired Production to see the console version of GRIP: Combat Racing, not yet officially released and therefore in preview. Although, perhaps, many of you already know it, let's start by saying that GRIP is a racing video game, in which, however, the machines are equipped with weapons and can fight each other, unlike the power-up that you will be able to take during the race, you can attack (thanks to the different weapons present), or defend yourself from enemies, for example with the use of a shield. Another feature that we want to clarify, concerns the fact of having a double slot for the power-ups and if you decide to load one, you will have only one object, but much more powerful than before, useful in case we want to quickly eliminate a opponent.

[Gamescom 2018] GRIP: Combat Racing - Tested the new title published by Wired ProductionInspired by the old saga Rollcage, released between 1999 and 2000, GRIP it has inside features that make it, in some way, unique in its kind. We will be able to compete at the moderate speed of 700 km / h on floors, walls or vegetation of one of the exotic planets within the game world, motivated by tracks ranging from electronic music, techno, trance or drum'n'bass . In addition to all this, it comes with multiple modes to choose from:

    • Career: classic mode in which we will have to move forward to become stronger and unlock new tracks and new cars.
    • Arcade: we will be able to compete on any map, with any car already unlocked.
    • Time Trial: thanks to the latter we will be able to test ourselves by achieving and beating, at the same time, our personal bests.
    • Sand: catapulted into an arena, we will have to eliminate every opponent that comes under our gaze, the last one who remains alive, wins.
    • Carkour: a race against time in which we will have to achieve the best track record, but overcoming and the obstacles placed on our path.
    • Multiplayer: whether it is via a LAN, split-screen or even online, we will be able to compete with our friends and others.

After having listed everything related to the modes, we have not talked about the most customizable part of the game, which is: the cars. In fact, the latter will not only be unlockable as you progress with your career, but they can be customized or created entirely starting from 0 and in the future, as we have been told, DLCs will be introduced that will allow us to buy unique pieces. Right now, the official console release doesn't have a specific date yet, but GRIP: Combat Racing is available on PC and we strongly encourage you to try it out. Good race, or rather, good fight to everyone!
