As for the application of WhatsApp for Android you should know that, following the latest updates of the same, it is no longer possible to take screenshots or screen recordings while viewing the temporary photos: if you try to record the screen, it is then automatically "blacked out" in the movie obtained. Also, as you probably already know, the photos themselves are not saved in the gallery of your device.

That being the case, the most immediate and simple solution to put into practice in this case is that of actually photograph the screen of the smartphone on which the temporary photo is displayed with another device (e.g. a second smartphone, tablet, camera or any other device capable of taking photographs or recording videos).




An alternative solution that you may want to consider is one that involves making a message backup. The temporary photos, in fact, when they have not yet been opened, can be stored in the backup: by restoring the latter it therefore becomes possible to view them, even repeatedly (continuing to restore the same backup).

iPhone

Even in the case of the app WhatsApp for iPhone, temporary photos are not saved to the device memory and you cannot take screenshots or screen recordings of them. It goes without saying, therefore, that you can use a second camera device photographing the display of your “iPhone by” while the temporary photo you are interested in is displayed on it.


Alternatively, if you haven't yet opened the temporary photo you want to "review", you can include it in a backup your WhatsApp messages and then restore the same backup if necessary to view the image several times.

And in the case of Web WhatsApp and of the client's WhatsApp for PC? You should know that, contrary to what has been seen previously on smartphones, it is possible to carry out one on the platforms in question screenshot of the screen with the temporary photos open: in this way it is possible to save a "copy" of the images in question which, otherwise, are not stored on the device.

To proceed on a computer equipped with Windows 11 o Windows 10 (whether you use WhatsApp Web or WhatsApp Desktop) press key combinations Win + Stamp (the button Win it's the one with the windows flag located in the lower left), Win+Ctrl+Stamp o Win+Fn+Stamp while you are viewing the temporary photo interests you.



If you have one Mac, however, you can repeat the steps just seen using the key combination cmd + shift + 4. After that, press the space bar (or just run the utility Screenshot) and select it with the mouse pointer WhatsApp window. The screenshot you just took will then be saved to your Desk of your computer.
