Smartphones allow us to enclose all the enormous variety of the world in a few centimeters of screen: web pages, images and videos scroll quickly before our eyes, allowing us to gather information on any aspect of our lives. In some cases, however, managing such a large amount of data can be difficult, and traditional tools, such as bookmarks or notes, can be limited. Here then comes a method as old as the history of computers, namely that of capturing and saving the entire screen of the device, in order to be able to comfortably use the data contained therein at another time.
Today, on Android devices, this feature returns a high-resolution image of the display, which is stored as a common photo. However, the methods for taking advantage of this option vary depending on the devices you use: you know, the Android world is also beautiful because it is varied. In this tutorial, I will focus exclusively on how to take screenshot with huawei device (smartphone, tablet or notebook). I state that, probably, you could also adapt some of the procedures described to Honor phones (and Android devices in general), but don't give too much weight to this assumption.

Compatible Huawei devices
The procedures that I am about to illustrate will allow you to take a screenshot with any Huawei device. So I'm talking about:
- Huawei mobile devices – smartphones and tablets with operating system Android e launcher EMUI, even if they have the root, in most cases even those manufactured by Honor, more generally those of the series P, Mate, Y, G, Nova e MediaPad;
- PCs manufactured by Huawei - i MateBook, to be clear, or laptops with the Windows 10 operating system;
In order for the steps described to work for you as well, you will need to make sure you have a software originals, not third-party or modded in short.
How to take a screenshot on Huawei phone or tablet
take a screenshot with Huawei and Honor mobile devices, you can follow several paths. The most used, however, are three, all rather simple and immediate, but which still require a little attention.
The first one I suggest is the fastest, and you can use it when you need to take a quick Huawei screenshot. The second, however, provides special features, which allow you to take a photo of the screen in a personalized way. Read on to understand what I'm talking about.
EMUI photo capture combination
The easiest way to take a screen shot with a Huawei smartphone or tablet is via a key sequence default and preset by the Chinese manufacturer itself (shared, however, with the vast majority of Android smartphone manufacturers).
In case you need to quickly take a picture of the mobile phone screen, just hold down the keys at the same time Volume Down e Power (on my smartphone, for example, they are next to each other, but in other models they may be on the left and right of the screen, respectively).
After a few moments, a new screen will appear, in which you can see snapshot that you just made. You will even be able to edit the screenalbeit in a simple way. The image will be automatically saved in the cartella Screenshot of the Gallery.
Huawei gesture to take a picture of the screen
In Huawei mobiles and tablets, there are also some intelligent gesture to take a screen capture.
To verify that the gesture screenshot is active, follow the path Settings > Smart assistance > Motion control. Then, in the section "Knuckle strike”, check that option Smart screen is active. If not, press on name and enable it, by moving the switch from left to right.
As you can see, in the upper part of the screen, you are also shown representations of the actions to be performed. Then replicate that movement, performing a double-tap with a knuckle, to take a screenshot. Be careful, though: I said one knuckle, not two. Tapping with two knucklesin fact you would record the screen del tuo Huawei.
However, the screenshot will be saved in thealbum Screenshot of the Gallery automatically.
App to take screenshots with Huawei
The same capture function that is activated via the key combination (shown above) can also be accessed in another way: enter thenotification area by swiping from top to bottom and, among the various icons present, press up Screenshot. If it is not present, press on thepencil icon (above) and add it to the menu.
Thanks to this Huawei app, you can decide whether to immediately share the screen you just made, edit it with the Huawei editor or create a scrolling one. This last function is useful, for example, if you need to take a screenshot of a rather long web page.
There are also other third party apps that may allow you to run continuous, extended or customized screenshots, perhaps to capture only a part of the screen or to edit the screen more specifically. Below, I'll show you a few.
Screenshot Facile
The application Screenshot Facile provides advanced capabilities for screen capture with a Huawei or Honor phone or tablet (and others). It's free and you can download it from this Play Store address.
Once installed, you just need to open it, grant permissions and configure its options. You can choose between the following methods:
- Screenshot
- Screen recording
- Screenshot of the web page
- Scroll screenshots
Once you have gone through the various settings, tap on the blue button named Start the capture. Follow the instructions shown on the screen to save and edit the screenshot.
Private Screenshots
Then there is an app that is different from the ordinary, developed for those who love privacy. Private Screenshots, in fact, it is ideal for taking screenshots with a Huawei mobile device when you want to hide the captures from messaging apps or don't want to save in the Gallery. It's free and you can install it via this Play Store page.
Its operation is very simple: after the first opening, you will have to grant permissions, so as to activate a interactive button on the screen. Subsequently, all you have to do is open the window to capture and press the orange button that appears on the screen.
The screenshot will then be captured and saved anonymously on your phone. To view it, just touch the Private Screenshots notification, or in any case open the app and consult the Gallery of invisible shots.
How to take a screenshot on Huawei PC
It is obviously possible fare lo screenshot col computer Huawei. Below, I'll show you the most common methods, or by pressing a button on the keyboard or using third-party software.
You will thus be able to capture quick snapshots and print them if necessary, or even save parts of the screen in a personalized way.
Photo capture combination of the MateBook
I MateBook Huawei they work exactly like any other PC with Windows 10. Screen captures, in fact, are controlled by the operating system and are also identical on desktop and notebook PCs produced by other companies.
To take the screenshot with the Huawei MateBook, therefore, just press the button Stamp (also known as PrtScn or PrtScrn), to take advantage of Print Screen mode. I have already explained everything to you in the guide dedicated to how to take a screenshot on Windows 10.
Programs to take screenshots on PC Huawei
On Huawei PCs with W10 OS, you may use the application Snipping tool, integrated by Microsoft, which you find by following the path Start > Windows Accessories.
Its operation is very intuitive: you just need to choose the mode of capture (full screen, window or freehand) and press the button New. Once the screen is done, you can decide how to save it or whether to make small changes with an internal editor.
Although it is a valid app, you should know that there are also more advanced third-party alternatives to capture the screen with Huawei PC. One that could be right for him, I present to you below.
Greenshot
Greenshot is an open source desktop application, distributed under the GPL license here. It is more than a screen capture app, because it offers very advanced settings, including the OCR recognition (but only via Microsoft Document Image) and integration as a plug-in in Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer as well as a very advanced image editor and a huge amount of other services, which would be too long to list here.
Once you start Greenshot, however, this program it will completely replace the standard functions of the keyboard command. Then, pressing the key Stamp, you will see the application menu appear, asking you how to proceed.
A special feature of Greenshot, is that it also captures the mouse cursor, unlike with system functions.
How to take video screenshot on Huawei
Sometimes, an image is not enough: if we want to save a procedure, for example, we would need to have a video of the operations performed on the screen, not a simple photograph. So it is possible capture a video screenshot with Huawei smartphones, tablets and PCs? Of course yes! Now, I'll show you how to proceed.

Strange but true, not all Huawei or Honor smartphones allow you to record the screen without third-party applications. In some, it is possible to exploit the same key combination proposed above, that, if pressed for longer, allows you to capture the video screen.
If your smartphone does not have this feature, you could still install a third-party app like XRecorder, downloadable for free from this section of the Play Store.
Once launched, the app will ask you to access your camera roll, obviously to be able to save videos there. Since its mechanism is not integrated into the system, but constitutes an additional service, it will remain active in the background, a situation that you will be asked to authorize on first launch (the settings will open automatically and you will need to enable the authorization to "move" to other apps, i.e. to remain visible through a small floating icon, present on the right side of the screen).
Be careful though: for all these reasons, XRecorder it may slow down your device, or even partially alter the visual effect of some applications, without changing their overall functionality. A frankly paradoxical feature of this application is that, precisely because it is not integrated, it does not have direct contact with the device's audio peripheral: in practice, when you record the screen, the microphone will also activate, with the result that you will record in the video not only the audio possibly coming from the mobile phone, such as that of a video being played (which in any case will be disturbed because it was acquired via the microphone), but also all the surrounding noises, including your breathing or, possibly, your words.
To start recording, just press the record button placed on the side of the screen. THE recorded videos will be accessible from both the app and the gallery, where they are saved in a special section.
The quality of the video is not excellent, and is in any case lower than that of the screen resolution; moreover, depending on the mobile phone model, the size of the video can be considerable.
Huawei PC screen recording
As I told you before for the photographic screen of the Huawei PC, also as regards the video capture from the MateBook, since it has Windows 10 installed, it is sufficient to use a third party program to manage this feature.
For example, you could use CamStudio, distributed under the GPL license at this address. The application is in English, but absolutely intuitive.
To record a video screen with your Huawei PC (only in AVI format, but of excellent quality), just click the red button that you find on the main screen of the app. Instead, from the menu "Region”, you can choose what to record, whether the whole screen or just a part of it. As you can see, this is a very fast solution.
The problem, again, is the output file size: just 5 seconds of recording can occupy (depending on the size of the screen) more than 200 MB of disk space. It will then be up to you to compress it or otherwise cut it to adapt it to your needs.
I can't take Huawei screenshots
If with all the advice I just gave you you failed to take a snapshot with your Huawei device, or in any case to record the video of the screen, you should verify that you have one of the compatible models that I inserted in the initial argument.
If you have a supported Huawei device, and maybe the key combination doesn't work, try using aapplication for making screenshots. If your device crashes or restarts, try a free up some space and to close some of the applications running in the background. Indeed, it could be that the hardware components (primarily the CPU and RAM) take a bit of "effort" to process your request.
