Jeff Bezos leaves the leadership of Amazon, here is who will be the new CEO

In the last few minutes Amazon has officially announced a major change in its leadership, which will affect one of the figures who have consolidated the success of the famous US e-commerce company. According to the latest statements Jeff Bezos, CEO and founder of the well-known platform, will step down from his position during the third quarter of 2021 to move to the executive chair of the Amazon board of directors. To fill the place that has distinguished him over the years will be Andy Jassy, who currently holds the role of managing director within Amazon Web Services (AWS), the company owned by the Amazon group that provides cloud cloud computing services on an on-demand platform of the same name. In a message to his company's employees and the press, Bezos said:

I am thrilled to announce that starting in the third quarter of this year I will move to the executive chair of the Amazon board of directors and Andy Jassy will take my poaro, becoming the new CEO of the company. In the role of Exec. Chair, I intend to focus all my energy and attention on new products and new initiatives. Andy is well known within the company and has been with Amazon for almost as long as I have been. I am sure he will be an exceptional leader and for that he has my full confidence.

Bezos continued his statement by saying he will use his new role as executive chairman of the Amazon board of directors to focus on initiatives such as the Amazon Day 1 Fund, the Bezos Earth Fund, Blue Origin, the Washington Post, and many more. Bezos originally founded Amazon in 1994, transforming what began as an online bookstore into a huge, globally successful retailer competing in a number of industries, including food delivery, technology, and the streaming of movies and TV series.
