Those who don't die see themselves again

For fans of the saga it is always a pleasure to meet old friends during the various adventures, even if Marluxia is not quite the kind of "friend" that Sora, Donald and Goofy needed. The return of Organization XIII's Sicario is something unexpected for users, especially after the apparent defeat at the Castle of Oblivion. The party unfortunately has no memory of his previous encounter with this bitter character, so we will have to see how it will be inserted into the plot of Kingdom Hearts III. For those who have not followed the events of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memoris, Marluxia has tried to give life to a rebellion with the aim of taking control of the Organization; his plan, however, was thwarted after a heated battle against Sora but, evidently, this opponent was never completely defeated. Its presence in the game suggests interesting events, above all because some events concerning the past of both the character and the Organization itself could be revealed.

Subsequently we return to visit the world of Toy Story, already announced at the last D23, while we see for the first time in action Sora and companions in Mostropli, well-known city of the film Monster & Co. Also in this case the party changes its appearance to adapt to the setting and, in no time at all, our protagonists meet the legendary Sulley, Mike Wazowski and little Boo. After a bickering, a new team is formed consisting of 5 characters who, as you can see from the trailer, will have to face numerous Nesciens. As will be revealed later by the video itself, these enemies anticipate the arrival of Vanitas, but we'll come back to this later.

A Keyblade with many opportunitiesty

After about a couple of minutes of films and dialogues, here we see the group in action. The Keyblade, as already shown in other trailers, will have more forms available, so as to guarantee the player greater variety in the fights. In the video you can see how Sora's weapon first transforms into two mechanical arms with which to violently hit enemies and, subsequently, become two practical yo-yos able to change dimensions and do numerous damage to the area. Another Keyblade revealed is that of Rapunzel: Sora's classic weapon will become a scepter with which to make your way across the battlefield and unleash numerous magical blows. With Kingdom Hearts III the evocations could not fail to return, already mentioned in the previous films as Attraction Flow. In this video we can also see Sora recall Ariel in a truly spectacular sequence, or awaken historical allies from hibernation such as the Dream Eaters of Dream Drop Distance. In the midst of battle, you can even spawn Rapunzel's tower, from which Sora can launch powerful attacks from a safe distance.

The scenarios, much criticized in the past, now seem more alive than ever and, as we have been shown by some photos taken by the fans present at D23, also cities will be rich in NPG that will give harmony and stage presence to the context. The worlds will therefore be full of details, with a graphic style that is as delicate as it is effective. In the part dedicated to Toy Story it is clear how the intention of the development team is to create spectacular boss fights. Seeing how Sora, Woody and Buzz got on a rocket and then used it against the mammoth enemy makes your eyes shine; let's also add the possibility to climb on any part of the scenario and you will understand for yourself that, if you try to take advantage of the surrounding environment, the battle strategies could be practically infinite. Almost at the beginning of this article we named Vanitas and here he is, therefore, arriving in the last part of the trailer: this obscure character, the natural nemesis of Ventus, appears for the first time in front of Sora and, although the latter has never seen him first, it is almost natural for him to recognize it with a simple glance. The enemy will ask our hero to give him back his half, that is the part of Ventus that resides in the heart of the historical protagonist. So the central involvement of this Valiant as far as the plot is concerned is practically confirmed.

In conclusion, we can say with certainty that what we saw in the new trailer for Kingdom Hearts III hopefully. The potential to create the game that fans deserve, especially after the nerve-racking wait, are all there and now to get more information about this product we will have to wait for E3 2018. The details disseminated were really numerous, from all the innovative mechanics of gameplay to various graphical and technical improvements. The final chapter of the Xehanort saga seems to arrive in better shape than ever, we hope that the final expectations are really met.
