Mass Effect Legendary Edition: Bioware confirms, no next-gen updates

Mass Effect Legendary Edition: Bioware confirms, no next-gen updates

Mass Effect Legendary Edition, a trilogy that will contain the first three chapters of the series Mass Effect, is now on its way. The collection, developed by BioWare, was announced in November 2020 and the launch is, in fact, scheduled for 14 Maggio 2021. The Canadian production house, a few minutes ago, announced that the title will not land on next-gen. The trilogy, therefore, will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One e PC. The reason for this choice is soon said: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S are not yet present in the homes of all players since, due to the situation we are all facing, production rates are significantly reduced. This, in fact, has prevented many from moving to the next-gen, remaining, at least at the moment, on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The programmers developed the title based on U, and making the title natively available for nex-gen would have been virtually impossible. He confirmed it Mac Walters, director of BioWare, who stressed that developing the title for the new machines would be out of reach. Do not worry, owners of PlayStation 5 e Xbox Series X / S: you can still play Mass Effect Legendary Edition using the backward compatibility of your brand new consoles. What are the advantages that users who have entered the next-gen will have at the expense of those who are still in the eighth generation? Basically, loading times will be shorter and, moreover, the framerate will be much better. Unfortunately, as confirmed by Mac Walters, the title will not receive, at least at the moment, an optimization patch for next-gen.

In any case, you will be able to play the first three historical titles for the saga in 4K UHD also on PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X. Relive the saga of Commander Shepard it will surely be exciting and, among other things, it will be complete with DLC and downloadable content. In case you've never played it, this trilogy is a great way to get it back. In the meantime, you can pass the wait by catching up on our review of Mass Effect Andromeda, the last chapter of the series released in 2017.
