Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker - Bandai Namco online fighting game review

Bandai Namco Entertainment in these days of late summer released Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker. The new title developed by Soleil Ltd. is chronologically set during the opening events of the anime's Boruto. In this timeline Naruto uzumaki it is the seventh hokage and lends itself to host the annual chunin exam. Unlike Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 and from the other titles of the videogame saga, this fighting game is usable only online and allows the gamer to create your own personal ninja. Once our protagonist is finished we will be ready to throw ourselves into this new adventure and to face the whole world in duels to the last ninjutsu aimed at climbing the summit of the World Ninja Championship.

Shinobi Vs Dragon Ninja

Our journey will begin within a Central HUB placed in Leaf Village and from which we will be able to access several other spaces such as:

  • VR Ninja Arts Arena: this state-of-the-art research center run by Kakashi hatake allows the player to engage in virtual battles to learn the basics of the game. Once you have passed the initial training it will be possible to clash with the strongest ninja of the past to earn experience points, money and useful items to enhance our character. These missions can be undertaken alone, together with your teacher or in cooperative with another user (by creating or participating in a session).
  • Ninja Gear Shop: the armory managed by Tenten, in addition to providing various weapons, parts, costumes and consumables to buy and resell, it will allow us to analyze the scrolls that we will find during our game (unlocking the contents contained within).
  • Tavern: within this inn run by Sakura Uchiha we will better organize the equipment of our avatar. In the four slots present we will be able to structure our equipment according to the classes: attack, distance, defense and care.
  • Ninja Arts Library: in this place Sasuke Uchiha it will allow us to consult the ancient texts to virtually recreate a teacher of the past with whom to train. Improving the relationship with each of them will allow us to unlock their techniques and skills.
  • Hokage Mansion: in the estate manned by Naruto uzumaki we will be able to compare ourselves with other users of the network through quick matches or by participating in the World Ninja Championship in ranked matches.

The whole story will take place inside the Leaf Village, but through the various challenges we will be able to visit other places already seen previously such as: the Forest of Death, the Village of the Sand, the Village of the Rain and the Village of the Cloud. Instead of relegating the meetings to limited environments, the peculiarity of this new chapter is the enormous extension and explorability of the same. To move within them and solve the assigned tasks, we will have to use different declinations of our chakra through loaded jumps and corded kunai. To fight instead, we will have the usual close, powerful and ranged attacks to choose from. Beyond these, there will be the usual ninja techniques that can be used as special or support attacks, along with the supreme techniques (rechargeable via a time bar). The game system is still quite intuitive and nothing too elaborate to manage. The rendering of the graphic engine with the new cel-shading method is optimal and pleasing to the eye. The sound sector, as always, recreates the right atmosphere making everything more immersive.

Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker - Bandai Namco online fighting game reviewTo conclude

Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker is the ultimate fighting experience for fans of the iconic animated series. Friends and antagonists from the most varied narrative arcs of history they will not fail to appeal to the delight of all fans of the original work. This video game completely overturns the canons thrown by the previous videogame chapters, adding elements from Role playing game and competition to the classic fighting system we had been used to until now. Within it the possibilities of Customization they are almost infinite and give the possibility to create a unique fighter of its kind and perfectly balanced according to our needs. These elements are very useful and decisive in order to better face our opponents and to ensure victory in the battles undertaken. Having been designed to be faced in teams of four, this title obviously favors team play and coordination between several specialists with different skills. For this reason, playing with a team of friends will certainly make gaming sessions more fun and smooth than randomly pairing with external companions.

Unfortunately without an active internet connection, the contents inside it are relatively skinny. Furthermore, unlike other similar titles already on the market, Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker it does not offer nothing like an internal texture to this new universe, leaving little choice for those who prefer to play solo. Despite the good variety of assignments, these will become enough in the long run repetitive and boring to complete. Accomplice one level structure quite dispersed and poorly designed, we will find ourselves more often than not surrounded by a myriad of enemies, with our backs to the wall and with no way out. Most of the time the aiming system it will be somewhat difficult to manage and will force the camera in blind spots that will leave us completely uncovered. Technically speaking, the title still has some flaws, but nothing that cannot be fixed in a future update. For this reason we would like to recommend the purchase only to those looking for a not too demanding game to be undertaken in cooperative with their friends.
