The cult role-playing game of Square Enix, The World Ends With You, after 14 years is about to have a sequel chapter. The parent title was released on the market back in 2007 on Nintendo DS, although it then saw a new light over a decade later with an improved version of the Final Remix, exit for Nintendo Switch in 2018. Now, finally, we will be able to find out how the adventure of one of the most particular JRPG in the videogame market will continue with NEO: The World Ends With You, of which we can admire the brand new trailer released on the official channel YouTube by Square Enix.
After a very long countdown that has seen fans eagerly awaiting in recent years, we will finally be able to get our hands on this action rpg that will see us juggle the mysterious Reaper's Game. However, the protagonist will not be the same Neku of the original, but we will take on the role of a new character named Rindo, who will have to fight for survival in the crowded streets of one Shibuya fantasy. Most likely, even in this chapter of the series we will have to clash, as well as with the irritating Noise, even with the much more powerful Reaper. Once again, the action will take place in a stylized version of Tokyo's Shibuya neighborhood, where a series of new yet familiar characters will fight for survival. This time around, Shibuya has been recreated entirely in 3D, but, despite this, it looks like it will retain the aesthetic of the original comic. This new cel-shaded will allow players to control 4 players of the Reapers' Game: Rindo, Freight, Nagi e Sho Minamimoto, old acquaintance for all fans of the series.
Square Enix's second long-awaited game, Neo: The World Ends With You, will launch for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in the summer of 2021. We just have to wait a little longer to get our hands on this long-awaited sequel.
