    Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aime retires as president

    The historic president of Nintendo of America, Reggie fils-aime, will retire from the company on April 15th. The official announcement comes from the company, which has not provided the reasons behind this decision. In his place, the current Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales will take over the reins of the American division of the company. Doug Browser. Regarding the departure of Reggie Fils-Aime, Shuntaro Furukawa, current president of Nintendo, said:



    I really appreciate what Reggie has done for Nintendo. Inside and outside our company, Reggie is known as an outstanding leader. We are grateful to him that he is leaving the company in excellent shape and with a strong impulse. While we will miss him we wish him the best of his retirement, we are also delighted to have such a skilled successor ready to fill his role. Doug Browser and his team will ensure a painless transition and constant improvement for Nintendo.

    Reggie Fils-Aime then stated in a press release:

    Nintendo will own a piece of my heart forever. It's a part full of gratitude for the incredibly talented people I've worked with, for the opportunity to represent this wonderful brand, and most of all, for making me feel part of the friendliest and most enduring gamer community in the world. This for me is not a "game over", but it is "leveling up" to spend more time with my wife, my family and my friends.

    Future president of Nintendo of America, Doug Browser, also expressed his thoughts:

    I've been lucky to work and have had a mentor like Reggie for the past four years at Nintendo of America. You can rest assured, we will continue his work to evolve and expand our brand, furthering Nintendo's global mission to create smiles. There will still be millions of them.
