Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 stolen: an American postman sentenced

Since the start of the pandemic Covid-19, thanks to the forced quarantine to which almost the entire world has had to undergo, postal services and couriers have become almost a godsend for all those who, for one reason or another, have chosen to shop in the many sites e-commerce. However, this has meant that in recent months the cases of theft or non-delivery of different goods purchased online or even the creation of fraudulent sites designed to deceive the less attentive. This is the case with Zoheb A. Deura, a 34-year-old postman from the US postal service who has tampered with several parcels in recent weeks with the aim of stealing any expensive electronic products, especially targeting consoles such as Nintendo Switch e PlayStation 4.

The young man was brought before the Federal Court, which imposed one penalty of $ 20.000 and, moreover, the accused will have to serve three years of probation, of which the first nine months confined to his home. The now ex-postman was framed after the multiple complaints that many citizens of Connecticut (state where Deura worked, ed.) Were seeing complaining of having received packages torn and battered, or even the failure to deliver the goods request.

In the United States, tampering with postal packages is a federal offense, which is why the penalty was so severe. Surely after this first sentence in the coming weeks we will hear more and more about couriers and postmen caught not delivering electronic products, given that throughout 2020 there has been a continuous reporting of stolen electronic products, especially in America. The consoles were one of the most coveted products during the months of quarantine, especially Nintendo Switch and the latest generation consoles released last November, which also gave way to scams and touting.
