In the first volume of Oblivion Song we saw how ten years ago 300.000 inhabitants of Philadelphia mysteriously disappeared, transported to a dimension called by scientists "Oblivion". After numerous and unsuccessful attempts to recover some of the missing citizens, the government decides to suspend the search. The scientist Nathan Cole, on the other hand, discovers that with the most advanced technologies, it is possible to break down the boundary between the two dimensions and travel between them, this means only one thing: missing persons did not die, but they can be recovered and brought back to our dimension. In fact, after the official suspension by the government, our scientist remained the only rescuer. Once he has learned the technique for jumping between the two dimensions, the scientist fights daily to bring home those people still missing in that hell called Oblivion even at the cost of losing their lives. Nathan, in addition to doing his best every day in an attempt to recover as many missing persons as possible (including his brother Ed), seems to be attracted to that terrible and dark dimension. Is the protagonist of the story hiding something from us about Oblivion or is he just driven by that thirst for knowledge that unites all scientists? Now, some time after the disaster from which it all began, Nathan makes a sensational and chilling discovery: The cataclysm that shook the people of Philadelphia may have been generated by him and his former colleagues. Here it comes on stage his brother Ed who knows the other dimension very well since he has lived there for almost ten years. And he loves Oblivion so much that he prefers it to life on earth, according to him life has more meaning than being lived in the other dimension. These uncomfortable statements of his will prove to be a real problem for Nathan's plans.
