Panasonic: here are the first VR glasses with integrated HDR

There is now little more than a day to go until the end of CES 2020, the conference that is taking place in Nevada these days from which new news in tech, gaming and more is constantly arriving. Among these we point out one of the most interesting that has held the bench in the last few hours, or the new glasses for virtual reality products Panasonic.

During the conference, the Japanese house delighted its audience thanks to this prototype of eyewear, with a decidedly Steampunk style, able to also support images in HDR without any screen door effect. The panels mounted inside are OLED by 0,99 " 2K (2048 × 2048 pixels) designed in collaboration with Kopin and, according to the testimonies of those who have been able to try them, they guarantee a resolution and a really high image quality. HDR support (the first time ever that this technology has been implemented on virtual reality glasses) also gives the Panasonic project a truly amazing overall quality. Inside there is also space for its own audio technology, including drivers Technics which guarantee a more dynamic sound.

Certainly there are some negative points. As reported by The Verge, one of the demos featured at CES had limitations. The micro OLED panels mounted were smaller than what was actually declared and the viewing angle is lower when compared to other models already available on the market. Finally, the excessive heaviness compared to other widely used devices was reported. At the conference stand, however, there were two models, among them one included only a USB-C cable that passed from one end of the glasses to the other and which is definitely the version closest to the final one.

All that remains is to discover the plans of Panasonic for the future in this field.
