Official features

Audio 3D
The next generation will be supported more sonically than the current one, thanks to 3D audio patented by both industry majors. Sony will use the so-called “Tempest Engine”, of which you can find all the details at the following link.
Ray Tracing
Thanks to the full support of AMD, PlayStation will exploit ray tracing with its hardware, a technology still immature but already present for some time in the PC world. This will happen under several aspects, which together will guarantee a 360-degree support, which we have discussed in the following article.
SSD and expandable memory
The workhorse of the next generation has always been the world of SSDs, which has led the marketing campaigns related to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X since the very first announcements.
