The president and CEO of The Pokémon Company Tsunekazu Ishihara he said during the event "Healthcare x Gamification Forum" held in Tokyo, that the famous mobile game Pokémon Go overall saved a figure close to 18 billion dollars in medical expenses. The reason is simple but effective.
In fact, according to the report of the University of Tsukuba, the video game that has depopulated for some years now developed by Niantic Labs it would have generated such savings thanks simply to the steps that each individual player is "forced" to take to proceed in capturing the monsters. It is well known that walking is good, it helps people stay fit, healthy and strong.
According to the numbers proclaimed in this event, according to the estimates of TPC, the kilometers covered by players from all over the world would even be 23 billion, i.e. about 32,8 billion total steps (making a calculation of about 0,7 meters per step). As much as 6,54 billion dollars in medical expenses saved would have occurred on Japanese soil alone.
