Resident Evil Village is linked to Resident Evil 9, Dusk Golem speaks

Through some a post on Twitter, the insider Dusk Golem, famous for his previews related to the brand of resident evil, recently revealed that Capcom with Resident evil village he intends to continue a trilogy that began with the seventh chapter and will end with Resident Evil 9, which will be linked to the previous two chapters in a planned trilogy.

According to the rumors of the famous insider, it seems that Capcom is willing to continue the franchise by putting aside the numbering of the main chapters, as is already happening with Village where the number eight is only suggested within the logo.

Furthermore, according to Dusk Golem, many narrative elements of the seventh chapter will take on a new meaning once the eighth chapter is finished, and probably the same thing will happen as soon as Resident Evil 9 also arrives in stores.

These three chapters have been developed one after the other and will be the prelude to a new way of seeing the brand, with well-defined and autonomous narrative arcs. You can read Dusk Golem's words in the tweets below:

I also suspect this is why they want to move past numbered titles after RE9, to tell more self-contained stories rather than have to plan out stories ahead of time, but its cool here.

The fact that Village is a direct sequel to RE7 was decided quite early and there are some things included in the seventh chapter that will make more sense after playing RE8. The thing will be even more accentuated than any other chapter in the history of the series.

RE, RE8 and RE9 have a connected and planned story as all three chapters have had a close development. I also suspect this is why they want to overtake the numbered titles after RE9, in order to tell more self-contained stories rather than having to plan stories in advance.

Obviously, although the source is authoritative and although it is already known that Resident Evil Village will be linked to the seventh chapter, there have been no official statements on the part of Capcom regarding this hypothetical Resident Evil 9. Therefore we invite you to take such indiscretions with pliers.
