The long-awaited sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn it may soon be revealed. Despite the event Sony "PS5: The Future of Gaming" has been postponed, it is expected that news will be announced regarding the new title in development by Guerrilla Games. This news was speculated after that Blake Rebouche, Senior Quest Designer at Guerrilla had retweeted the post made by Sony advertising the event PlayStation 5, adding a mysterious “Join us“. A similar post was made by Richard Oud, Guerilla's Lead Animator, who retweeted the post inviting fans to mark the date on the calendar. Both posts were deleted within hours.
We do not know what were the reasons that dictated the choice to delete the tweets, Sony probably prefers to keep the information as secret as possible, but it is inevitable that some small "spoilers" may come out. What we do know is that the event, although a new date has not yet been announced, will be focused on the presentation of games first-party, so it wouldn't be surprising if it was announced Horizon Zero Dawn 2, with a release scheduled for 2021.
The new title in development by Guerrilla Games aims to create a new benchmark of the industry as regards above all the graphics department. The power of PlayStation 5 will allow developers to overcome the boundaries imposed so far in the current generation of consoles. In this regard, Sony has made a difficult but understandable choice: most of the PlayStation 5 exclusives will not be available for PlayStation 4, this will allow developers to make full use of the new console hardware. This choice has created a debate within the Sony fan base, but when we get to see the graphical leap of the PlayStation 5 title park, maybe this choice will be rewarded by consumers. Of course, probably with regards to important titles presumably in development, such as the new God of War, Spiderman 2 and Horizon Zero Dawn 2, we will not see a PlayStation 4 version.
